DUNKERY DASH THIS SUNDAY

With a change in catering at short notice, any cake donations will be gratefully received.....you wouldn't want to eat one of mine 😬.

The weather is looking very good too 🌞

For those who can make it, see you Sunday.

This weeks ride takes us to Cheddar and the Mouse Hole Cafe. The route is relatively flat until we climb Shipham where we descend towards the Lillypool cafe before turning right and climbing again to Charterhouse. It's all very steady with good views towards the top. Then it's across the top of the Mendips before dropping into Cheddar via the Gorge.

We'll then head back via Wedmore and Shapwick.

If there is a slower group they will have a choice of routes and can avoid the lumps.

The forecast looks very good. I hope to see as many of members out as possible.

Howdie folks, I'd like to place an order for club kit and wondered if any of you would like to take this opportunity to add any items you need. I'll give it a couple of weeks, so if you want to have a think about it, by all means do.
Suzy, could you send me the necessary info please.
Many thanks
Simon

Hey folks, firstly I'd just like to add my sincere thanks to Jeremy for organising our Sunday rides for the last three years; what an amazing job he's done.
Now that the baton has officially been passed, I would like to thank everyone who has offered their support and kind words of wisdom. This is a great club, but it is only a great club because of the effort taken to ensure there are rides organised each and every week. My role should be relatively simple, if we all step up to the mark every once in a a while. Of course, regulars will always offer, but I honestly think everyone who comes out on a regular basis should 'do their duty' at least twice a year. I've only lead three myself and I can honestly say that it really isn't that hard, honest. With the wealth of experience we have and the fact that a large proportion of the group are seasoned riders who know what it's like to be the leader, the hard part is taking the plunge, the rest really just falls into place.
I am honoured to have been asked to be the Sunday ride co-ordinator and will do my utmost to ensure it's smooth operation, just as my predecessor did.
This Sunday 26th March, Jeremy is leading the ride, the route TBA at present. The following week is the club run Dunkery Dash Audax. This will be the official club ride, so if members do not wish to take part, they will have to make their own arrangements. There is no volunteer for the following Sunday, i.e. 9th April, so I will offer to do that one. Sunday 16th April will require a willing volunteer and our very own Nigel Finch has agreed to lead what will undoubtedly be a great route to Rocky Mountain Nurseries, Wells on Sunday 23rd April.
To contact me, please message me on Facebook Messenger, email me at simon.richards@live.com or text me on 07802 436857.
Thank you for reading this and happy cycling everyone!!!

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone that led a ride during my 3 years as rides coordinator. I appreciated every time someone volunteered or was 'volunteered'.

Special mentions to my go to people who never let the side down when on the odd occasion we struggled. Iain Ralph, Trevor Coombe(Trigger), Peter Hares, Len and Ron Pinchen, Paul Fitton and Geoffrey Hicks.

Good luck to Simon Richards. Please try to make his life as easy as possible by making yourself available to lead.
