I believe it's the BCC Mince Pie ride to Double Gates this Sunday and I'm down to 'lead' the ride. Weather permitting I'm planning a relaxed and flat ride via Puriton, Woolavington & Mark then onto the moors for a steady climb up to Mudgeley Hill before the descent past Sweets and on to DG.

The return leg will be via Westhay, Shapwick, Cossington before returning to Bridgwater via the old railway track.

It's not far, it's not hilly, it will be steady and Coffee & Mince Pies are involved so what's not to like ?!!

See you Sunday (Weather permitting!!).

Just a reminder for all those attending that it's the BCC Christmas Dinner and Awards Presentation this Friday at the Tudor Restaurant.

We will need to be in the restaurant itself from 7.30pm but at the request of Belinda Llewelyn-jones anyone wishing to enjoy a pre or 2 is more than welcome to join us at Bar 27 (next door) at 6.30pm.

I am also reliably informed that there is an excellent live band playing afterwards.

See you all on Friday.

My ride this Sunday (10th) and the destination is the Aviator cafe at Dunkeswell Airfield. It is a slightly longer route than usual at 58 miles and will include three lumpy bits. Heading out to Enmore, turning towards KsM, Staplegrove, Angersliegh hill and a steady climb out of Hemyock with Dunkeswell coming at 28 miles. Ideally the moderate paced group (me!) will arrive a little before 11.15 am to ensure that the breakfast menu is still available. The return will be via Smeatharpe, Corfe, Henlade, Creech Heathfield, Durston, North Newton, NP and Bridgwater at approx. 1.45 pm. The weather forecast is looking chilly and maybe a bit damp at the moment but hopefully it will be ok. Thanks. ... See MoreSee Less

I'd like to join you for a ride some time. Reading the messages below it sounds as if the first Sunday in the month is 'all abilities'. How does that compare to the
other weekends? Ideally i'd like av speed 12-14 mph, 35-40 miles distance. How does this fit with your group?
