This Sunday David Crossley will lead the ride with a coffee stop at Hestercombe House. The route will be fairly hilly but without any steep climbs. The Blackdowns will probably be included.

Distance will be 50 miles approx. It will be the first time David has led and decent numbers would be appreciated.

For those wanting an easier ride just turn up as usual as I suspect there will be 2 groups and we can all meet up for coffee.

Are you up for the challenge of the Dorset 108 mile Etape this September?
Although the Rotary Dorset Bike ride is not a race there were some great times recorded in last year's event. Robert Koppenhol recorded that he took just 6 hours and 10 minutes to complete the 108 mile Dorset Etape which has over 7000 feet of climbs. Some others were close behind, but some took a more leisurely place taking another 3 hours to complete the route. The 108 Mile Etape goes through some of the best Dorset Countryside and mostly on country lanes. In addition to the 108 mile there are routes for 81, 71, 55, 45, 35, 22 and 10 miles.
Reserve your place today at www.dorset-bike-ride.co.uk

Velothon completed. Well done to everyone in the club. You all did fab. Shattered now but relaxing with a glass of fizz. Fantastic day and loved the closed roads. Sorry Colin Taylor I did have my club top on underneath but too cold and wet to take it off my jacket on top of the tumble. ... See MoreSee Less

I'm sure plenty of you know Dereck Cutler (a.k.a "Dr. Bike" or from the Velodrome track sessions). He is taking on an incredible cycling challenge starting tomorrow doing an End to End (Lands End to John O'Groats) solo and unsupported under 5 days!! This is the iconic Audax challenge. Dereck is raising money for the Southampton Hospital Charity. Please donate what you can to spur him on: www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Dereck-Cutler Good Luck Dereck! ... See MoreSee Less

Hi all. Its my ride on Sunday to Scarlet's Tea Garden at Langford Budville. The forecast is pretty grotty at the moment but all being well we will leave Cornhill at 9am and head off to North Petherton, North Newton, Creech, Stoke St Mary and round the back lanes of Taunton towards Wellington and Langford Budville. Returning back to Bishop's Lydeard, Kingston etc etc. It will be a steady pace with time to enjoy the countryside and of course, no one will be left behind.

Please can I remind everyone of Club etiquette for group riding (on the website if you need a refresher) and that we need to be good role models for cyclists and cycling.

Finally, good luck to all those doing the Velothon Wales!
